Description Vintage Steiff Brown Bear, Button in Ear, Partial Tag, Circa 1947-53?, U.S. Zone?? I am offering a vintage brown Steiff teddy bear which I found at an estate sale. He is really cute and needs a good home. It was found buried in a trunk. I believe the bear dates from the 1947-53 period based on my research on the web. I am not a bear or Steiff expert so please e-mail me with any questions you may have. Age: estimated circa 1947-53 Description: 12" (measured from heel to top of ear-see image) tall classic brown teddy bear with beige paws and slight hump at upper back, 3 black threads outline the snout; 4 black threads outline paws; amber/black eyes (unknown if they are glass or plastic); no noise; appears to be a straw filling; paws appear to be made of felt; I do not know if the bear is made of mohair or plush; there are remnants of a white label (possibly tag for the U.S. Zone) on the bears underarm (see image). Size: Approximately 12" Measurements: head circumference is 11" wrapped from back of head and around the snout; torso is 5 1/4" long; outer arm length is 5 3/4" and inner arm is 3 1/2"; outer leg is 5" and inner leg is 3"; head is 3" high; rounded ears measure 1 1/2" wide at base and 1" high; bottom felt foot size is 2 1/2" long ; felt hand paws are about 1 1/2" Condition: some matting; more pronounced on left arm, holes on bottom of feet, wear on snout with missing fiber; 3/4" white label remnant on right arm (no text visible); left eye has a small bit of fiber missing; white residue on pads of feet and around snout; no detectable odor Button: Left ear, silver color with raised script, 3/16"INTERNATIONAL BUYERS MUST PAY BY PAYPAL. He is so cute and crying out for a good home. I will really miss him. I noticed that the bear appears much lighter than what is shown on my monitor. I took more photos of him indoors with and without a flash. I think the actual color is in between what is shown. It may be the cinammon brown color but I am not sure. Place a Bid!
