I was told it was Steiff, but I'm not a bear expert. I think he also looks like a Hermann bear. He's adorable, definitely old, about 15" tall, straw stuffed, jointed at head, arms and legs, with a working growler/squeaker inside his tummy. Long soft mohair shows some wear overall as shown. He has what appears to be an original sewn-in patch of fur on his chest which is a lighter, blonder shade of mohair than the rest of him. Looks to be completely original to the bear to me, but if you need more photos just let me know. I could not find a tag or button anywhere identifying him. Open, growling mouth has some wear inside the felt lining ( you can see the straw showing through bottom of his mouth). Brown, vertically embroidered nose is half gone and I gave him some new eyes. He's still adorable and was obviously loved immensely. THe pictures don't do him justice. Once you hold him and hear him growl, you'll fall in love.
