He is a Merrythought "Cheeky" bear, first introduced in 1957. He is a quite large example, measuring 27" in height, fully extended. He has plastic safety eyes, velvet padded hands, cotton padded feet and black stitched nose, mouth and claws. His arms, legs and head are jointed and he has a bell in each ear. He is wearing a happy expression - just a joy to look at! He measures about 27" fully extended from the bottom of his feet to the top of his ears and weighs 3 lbs. He is in really great condition with almost all of his coat fully intact - there is one dime sized balding spot on his stomach, although there is still hair in that spot. Otherwise, there is some matting of his coat on his stomach and on the back of his head and there is slight soiling to the right pad of his foot. He would benefit from a cleaning, but really is in very good condition for a piece of his type and age. Unfortunately, he is missing his original label, but you can see the size of the label by the stitching left on the bear's left foot. He also still has the string to which his tag would have been attached. I've searched and searched, but I haven't been able to find any other examples of this size.
