Raggedy Ann measures 16" tall and Andy is about 20" tall.Both dolls have metal button eyes, painted eyelids, lashes, nose , lips and stripe red and white leggings.Both dolls have the original cotton tag/label intact that reads:Johnny Gruelle’s own Raggedy Ann & Andy Dolls; Copyright P.F. Volland Co. 1918, 1920, 1925. Johnny B. Greuelle 1924; 1928; 1930; 1932; 1937; and 1939. Copyright, Renewed Myrtyl Gruelle, 1945; 1947. Georgene Novelties, Inc., New York, New York, Exclusive Licensed Manufacture, Made in the U.S.A."I Love You" in a red heart is painted on the left chest of each doll.Both dolls have condition problems:Raggedy Ann's face is soiled and rest of body shows slight signs of wear/play with no rips, the dress is original.Raggedy Andy has small rip on left eye, face is also soiled and rest of body shows slight signs of wear/play with no rips, outfit is also original with a rip going up one leg and buttons on the back are no longer attached to one side.I considered cleaning the dolls by hand and washing and repairing the outfits, but was informed by many collectors that it would not be a good idea to touch them and make any adjustments or modifications to the dolls and to leave them in their present condition, therefore keeping the value of the dolls.  The dolls were purchased in the 1940's and have been with one owner all of this time, until his recent death.
