Description
DESCRIPTION Up for bid we have TWO ANTIQUE GLADDIE HELEN W. JENSON CREATION GERMAN BISQUE DOLL. The first is a rare and collectable almost 80 year old George Borgfeldt doll and was imported from Germany from 1928 to 1930. She is considered a Bisque composition mix, thus the arms and legs are composition with sockets that swivel and her painted blond hair swivel head is Bisque. She has brown glass sleep eyes and an open mouth and the back of her head has the imprinted trademark: GLADDIE/COPYRIGHT BY/HELEN W. JENSEN/GERMANY/ 1005/1420/150 She has a stuffed canvas like body and measures 26” long. Her legs and arms have some crazing and there is some damage to her left upper leg and foot and some minor chips and wear marks on her fingers. The face has some imperfection spotting and a few minor scuff marks on each side near the ears. Included is her original early 1920’s two piece outfit. The second doll is also an ANTIQUE GLADDIE HELEN W. JENSON CREATION GERMAN BISQUE DOLL. She also is rare almost 80 year old and a George Borgfeldt doll and was imported from Germany from 1928 to 1930. She is considered a Bisque composition mix, thus the arms and legs are composition with sockets that swivel and her painted blond red clay swivel head is Bisque. She has blue glass sleep eyes and an open mouth and the back of her head has the imprinted trademark: GLADDIE/COPYRIGHT BY/HELEN W. JENSEN/GERMANY/ 1005/1420/45 She has a stuffed canvas like body and measures 20” long. Her legs and arms have some crazing and there is some damage to her underside left foot and some paint chipping on her legs and a few chips and wear marks on her fingers. The face has some imperfection spotting and a few minor scuff marks on each side near the ears and back of the head with one small chip on her right ear. Included is her original early 1920’s two piece outfit. The history of both of them is that for most of their life belonged to an elderly women doll collector and were willed to a family member who has no room for them. They now need a new home to be cared for. Perhaps they will be a welcome addition to your antique doll collection. This week we are offering both of them at a low starting price of $1,500.00.
