' Description STEIFF SCOTTY DOG 40's VINTAGE  This wonderful Scotty dog is the 14 cm size as shown in the Steiff Sortiments book on page 98.  I believe he is EAN #1614,0 dating him to 1949 in silk plush, rather than the mohair plush version on the same page (EAN 1314,0 dated 1949-57), due to his nose colour, a black nose instead of a brown nose, and his felt lined ears and very furry muzzle. However, whichever version he is, he is superb!!  (Email me if you know for sure!!) He is from a recently acquired vintage lot of 50's & 60's Steiff animals I will be listing over the coming weeks. Scotty is made from deep black silk plush (or possibly mohair?), with a very furry muzzle, a black hand stitched nose and brown eyes with white accents, and perky little ears lined with black felt. He is unjointed, however, he has a swivel head. He is in excellent clean condition and very very cute!!  Sadly, he is missing his chest tag and collar but he has his ear button with raised script and the remnants of his yellow ear tag!!!  He is an adorable little fellow!  There are no tears, and only one little worn spot on the bottom of his front foot.  His eyes are very expressive!  A great addition to your Vintage Steiff collection!  Please email me with any questions before bidding.
