Invoices are sent Sunday evening or when you are finished shopping let me know and I will send an invoice with your shipping discount. ______________________________________________________________________________________________ NOTE: Robin Woods from Pittsburg, PA. is a noted doll designer who created dolls that were made to be played with, producing a special kind of vinyl and cloth body to cuddle. All dolls have the same superb design, the distinctive hand-painted faces, the easily managed hair and clothes, and the durability expected from Robin Woods dolls. The first dolls produced by Robin came in very limited quantities. She started her business in 1983, calling it Robin Woods Inc. {RWI}. In 1991 she resigned from the company because she had no control over what was being done. She then went to work for the Madame Alexander Doll Company. Robin and MA was in a continuous battle in court over the use of her name usage {Robin Woods designed "Let's Play Dolls"} because when she resigned from RWI she was limited in using her name on any collectible dolls. The battle in court was costly and fiercely fought and Woods & MA lost.From the court papers, "Even though RWI's sales continued to increase throughout the 1980s, the company never turned a profit.  Unhappy with RWI's financial performance, the Seed Fund in 1990 instructed its representatives on RWI's board to remove Mrs. Woods from her management role but to continue to  employ her as a doll designer.  Following Mrs. Woods' demotion, RWI's product line was also altered and new distribution channels were created. The Seed Fund's changes proved catastrophic, leading RWI to the verge of bankruptcy.   Mrs. Woods offered to return as CEO to try to save RWI, but the Seed Fund rebuffed her.  Mrs. Woods resigned from RWI on December 6, 1991, to go to work for one of RWI's  competitors, the Alexander Doll Company ("Alexander")."Get these dolls while you can as they are limited editions and hard to come by and as time goes on they will get harder to buy.This adorable doll is in  MINT condition with original box.
