In 1966 Mattel released the very desirable Color Magic Barbie in the plastic closet box, but before the doll was discontinued in 1967, her packaging was BRIEFLY changed to a cardboard box, shrink-wrapped with cellophane like the Twist 'N Turn Barbie dolls introduced in 1967! This doll is truly a MUSEUM-quality example, as her box looks like it just came from the factory! I do not see any tears in her cellophane, and the box end even has the Mattel sticker "Scarlet Flame & Golden Blonde" indicating the hair colors for this beauty! Her pink & silver "GENUINE Barbie BY MATTEL" wrist tag is pristine mint without a single wrinkle, and it is firmly attached to her wrist! Barbie appears FLAWLESS with a gorgeous complexion featury deep RED lips and blush, bright sunny blonde hair held by a hair clip and her headkerchief, a minty-mint swimsuit still tied with the waist ribbon, and perfect red fingernail and toenail polish! Barbie's hair clips and satin ribbons, Color Magic Changer packets A and B, applicator brush, and hair setting net are all firmly ATTACHED to her cardboard box liner, still held in place under Mattel's plastic covering compartments! Behind Barbie's box liner, her gold wire doll stand and her Color Magic instruction booklet are visible! Her cardboard box features great PHOTO of Color Magic Barbie having her hair and costume color changed! This doll is so very RARE that this version in the cellophaned cardboard box is not even shown in most Barbie doll reference books!!! This blonde Color Magic Barbie in the CARDBOARD box was valued at an AVERAGE value of $2,995 in the 2000-2001 Miller's Fashion Doll Price Guide (with her high value listed at $3,200!!!).
