Start Price USD 289.00 Current Price USD 595.00 Time Left - Bid Count 13 Buy It Now Price - Reserve Price - Start Time Thursday, September 04, 2008 End Time Sunday, September 07, 2008 Location Whendi's Bears - NY See more about 'Old Vintage style Mohair PUG DOG ~ Whendis Bears pwgl' Description Whendisbears "Lil  PUG " ~~~   NEW  DAWG  DESIGN ~~~ one of a kind 8 inch (Teacup Size)  - Early Vintage Style Mohair Pug  Dog includes the vintage metal cup too! with hand tinted old black markings on a stone color base I am very pleased to offer another TEACUP size PUG Dawg and WOW did she turn out sooooo sweet!   These teacup sizes are a bit of a challenge for me just because of the smaller size head and all the needle scultping on the face......how I admire those miniature artists!   My hands are not what they used to be :) She is definately one-of-a-kind because of the hand needle sculpting & tinting of her face and the vintage textiles I used too.  Each piece will have his own unique pug features.  She is wonderfully distressed to look like she came out of an old trunk in the attic but she is newly made by me and is my original design.   This auction is for the PUG Dog & vintage metal cup only!     Her mohair is a hand dyed stone color and then I hand tinted her traditional markings in an old black color on her face and ears.  She has a unique head shape that is like the pug.  Her head is a big fat style head with a pieced in chin with  needle scultped jowls.  She has large flapover black tinted ears.   Her snout is pushed in and down like a real pug snout.   Then I aged her again.   Her paw pads are backed mohair and then aged.   She has very large round black german glass eyes backed with cream wool fabric.  Her nose is sparsely stitched with old black thread and then I applied my color wax technique on it to make it look even older. She wears a collar that I made from a very old antique dress sleeve cuff!  It was already trimmed with this wonderful old lace.  This is one of the dresses I bought at the big antique show (refer to my blog).    I gave her a pale pink vintage ribbon on her head as well as her collar.  Then I added a very old button to the front.  She sits inside a vintage metal (not sure if it is pewter) cup that I also found the the antique show.  All the colors are perfect together!     What an adorable girl.....her pictures do not do her justice!         MY INSPIRATION DOG !!!     She is loosely stuffed with wood wool, steel shot and gravel granulars and sand, for weight and texture.  She is loosely 5-way hardware jointed.  She will come with my signed hang tag. She is shown standing but she cannot stand alone without help. This auction is for the PUG DOG & Metal Cup ONLY!    She would look fabulous displayed on a vintage dresser or cabinet with your other antique dolls & toys!
