Description
Really neat mechanical store display opera singer. At one time I had a collection of these and sold them all but this one. I had given it to a family member and they recently gave it back.....so lucky you! She stands 44" tall on a base that is 13" x 13". It is electrical and the motor makes noise but she quit working when she got shipped to me. I don't know anything about fixing it so I leave that up to you. It looks like a simple little motor with an electrical cord & plug. ( I WILL TRY TO GET SOMEONE HERE WHILE IT'S ON EBAY TO LOOK AT IT AND REPORT WHAT THEY FIND OR EVEN POSSIBLY FIX IT, BUT I'LL MAKE NO PROMICES) I know she used to move her head up and down and her arms moved up and down as if to motion with her singing opera. She has a pinkie finger missing as I have shown in one of the photos. She is composition and has a pink satin dress with really fancy lace, burgandy velvet trim & tiny little seed pearls and tiny little roses. Her hat is burgandy ...same color as dress trim. Her hair is red. Her painted facial features are in great shape. Her arm at the shoulder has slipped down but her dress is sewn on so I can't see it .She does not have legs as she was made rather with a rod from motor to her torso. I added some photos to show that.  There is a card inside with the doll maker. I tried to call the # many years ago but it's not in business. It was made in New York and the card states the name of the designer. Please look at the photo of the card inside to read it all. I will be listing approx. 30 more items throughout week and have some neat items that are really unusual so keep your eyes on my ebay site and store. Thanks and have fun! Happy to send even more photos than the many I am showing and ask as many questions as you like. There are no refunds or exchanges.Great News! I have actually found the doll maker thanks to a wonderful ebayer. Great history to this doll and the doll maker is in business still after all these years. He can fix the doll for whoever buys it, finger, motor and all. If it does not sell most likely I will have him fix it and keep it because I have had the pleasure of talking to him. Will be happy to put the buyer in touch with him as it was such a wonderful treat to speak to him and know about all the wonderful store displays he's made over the years. Super nice guy AND the ebayer who saw this and knows him personally.
