OOAK Faerie Fairy Newborn Baby & Tree Sculpture Mirese Serenity Newborn Faerie ~ Breathtaking by Renae Cambra Start Price USD 125.00 Current Price USD 125.00 Time Left - Bid Count 1 Buy It Now Price - Reserve Price - Start Time Monday, September 01, 2008 End Time Monday, September 08, 2008 Location Towson, MD See more about 'OOAK Faerie Fairy Newborn Baby & Tree Sculpture Mirese' Description New Page 4 Serenity Newborn Faerie Sculpture Number 108 Each faerie that I create is completely one of a kind (OOAK).  No molds are ever used during their creation, and no molds are taken from them after their completion.  They are therefore completely unique, never to be duplicated.        This sculpture was an absolute joy to create.  I attempted a new technique, of creating a wire and beaded sculpture, proved to be quite challenging, but I absolutely loved it.  I worked very hard on this beautiful tree, and for my very first try, I feel it turned out breathtaking.  If you've never tried this form of sculpture, I suggest you do!  It was very tedious, but well worth it.  The end creation is magnificent to the eye, pictures never do justice in my opinion!  When I sculpted the tree, I imagined a precious life sleeping sound beneath it's branches... which is why I've called it The Serenity Newborn Faerie.  I hope you like it.      This entire piece measures 7 inches around in diameter, and it's about 3 1/2 inches high.  The baby measures just 1 1/2 inches, and she is removable from her base.  The baby was sculpted with prosculpt polymer clay and baked according to manufacturers specifications.  She has been blushed in little areas, to give her life, using artist oil paints. She has wisps of auburn mohair.  Her wings are real cicada wings (thanks to my son LOL), and are permanently placed and lined with gold glitter.  The base, which is just a wooden base, has been stained and polyurethane.  The tree has been also permanently placed and mosses and twigs have been added for realism and effect.  The tree itself was made from golden wire, and pink and green beads.
