VANESSA (after the bal) BY CATHERINE GUY' Description   VANESSA (After the bal), 2007 OOAK CREATION BY CATHERINE GUY A FRENCH ARTIST (MEMBER OF THE PROFESSIONAL DOLL MAKERS ART GUILD)   I wanted Vanessa to inspire a feeling of easy flow, of total relaxation. With her large silk velvet dress and te butterfly wings hung on her back, I can imagine her after her fist big masked bal, tired after too much dancing and nostalgic as the party and its lights and noises have ended. Till the next one ...   Head, torso, feet and hands are modeled using a mineral, air-hardening material. No mould is used. Pieces are then sanded, painted and varnished.  The limbs are built on a metal frame, with kapok (a natural vegetal fiber) and cotton fabric. Hair are synthetic fibre. Vanessa wears a silk velvet dress with Swarovski crystal pearls and her wings are painted metal and Swarovski crystal strasses.   Vanessa is sold with the box I made to measure for her. The box is covered with red velvet panne, closed with satin ribbons and decorated with fabric flowers.
