Description
treasuredted Store OLD WOMAN WHO LIVED IN A SHOE by Michele Brown OOAK This beautiful one-of-a-kind set was created by American teddy bear artist Michele Brown of Bear Brown Collectables in 2002.  Her attention to detail brings a treasured Mother Goose nursery rhyme to life!  The nursery rhyme vignette sits on a painted wooden base that measures 13.75" x 12".  Attached to the base are a book, a vintage ladies shoe for the house, a shoelace clothes line, a picket fence with flowers, a goose, a watering can and some rocks.  The nursery rhyme is printed on a book which stands 10" tall, and the vintage shoe house is almost 16" tall to the top of the roof.  The Old Woman bear is 8.5" tall in silver mohair and wears a sweet blue floral dress with a pink plaid underskirt, a pink floral apron and a matching kerchief.  The four children bears are 5.5" tall.  The little girls are both made in sparse pink mohair.  One wears a green print dress with a pink hair bow.  Her sister, wearing a white eyelet dress, is being tormented by a brother who is untying her pretty blue hair ribbon.  The boys, one in white mohair and the other in a stone colored sparse mohair, both wear overalls, and a frog and a slingshot are their playthings.  All bears are hand-signed by the artist.  The retail price of this set is $850.00. This artistic creation by Michele Brown is the perfect holiday gift for the devoted teddy bear collector.  It combines nostalgia with the innocence of childhood rhyme to create a unique piece that will be a showcase in any teddy bear collection.Michele Brown is a native Texan with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Art and Design from Texas Tech University.  Her career in interior and fashion design took her to New York, London and Dallas.  In 1990, Michele started to make artist teddy bears on a full-time basis.  Her bears are all originals and completely hand made.  Each bear is painstakingly hand crafted and shows evidence of Michele's motto - Attention to detail.
