Description
Early Nancy Ann Judy Ann in starburst box Description: Here is an early Nancy Ann Storybook Doll. She is marked Judy Ann and is about 5" tall. She has the painted hair. She is all original with a tiny rosebud print organdy dress. There is a matching bonnet and the inside of the bonnet has a row of blue net. The blue net is on the sleeves and pantaloons. The dress ties in the back. You can see where the backing from the gold circular sticker was on the dress. This doll is picturedon page 142 of the Encyclopedia of Bisque Nancy Anns. The write up said a separate apron but the apron is attached but it has the long blue ribbons that extend to tie the dress in the back. There is a little soil to the apron, it's got a few light brown spots and there is one small area on the back of the bonnet that is a light tan. She's really a very hard to find doll with the molded hair. The dolls with this kind of netting are very hard to find. I see no damage to the bisque. She has the pudgy tummy, short arms, molded hair, molded socks. She has the early starburst box. The gold label is on the front but it was cut so you can't read the number. If you check the book out you will see that was common with the early dolls. The label says Mistress Mary, quite contrary how does your garden grow? She is from a smoke free environment.
