Description
During the 1930s, the Knickerbocker company made a bear called Winston the Good Luck Bear.  There was a story that in the 1940s a mother gave her adult daughter the bear and told her it would give her good luck dealing with her fertility problems.  The daughter gave birth within a year to her first child (or within 4 years, depending on what story you read.). As a result, Winston became known as the Fertility Bear.  One of the original bears from the 1930s was featured on the Antique Road Show. This Winston is a replication of the bear from the 1930s.  The certificate of authenticity describes this bear as being one of 7500 Winston bears created by distinguished bear artist Frankie McFeron.  The certificate describes that "Winston has been faithfully reproduced in chocolate mohair ..He is fully jointed with shoe button safety eyes...On his chest he proudly wears a brass horseshoe pendant to remind us of how he came to be known as a lucky charm."  Winston is from Knickerbocker's New Generation Collection.  He comes with an official ownership registration car, a bear care guide, nap raiser and muslin bag. Great condition! Shipping insurance is recommended.
