Description
view my other auctions below:   visit my entire auction showcase "Art, Like Cookies for the Soul" "Sisterly Love," pastel commission Specializing in my own FINE ART, of which the images at the top and bottom of this auction are samples. I have been a portrait painter in pastel and oil since 1989, for nineteen years. Miscellaneous items will be added occasionally on behalf of St. Francis Gift & Thrift Store, where I am a research volunteer. Here for your consideration is a Helen Kish doll, 16" Seasons Summer, as repainted by Nancy Lee Moran. This auction lasts 10-days, ending on a Sunday evening. Helen Kish Seasons as OOAK "Ashley" with the last of the summer roses Doll Repaint #04 by Nancy Lee Moran "Ashley" will arrive with her original box, her original clothing (dress with ribbon embroidery and felt, hat, nude nylon hosiery, blue shoes), her custom-made dress, and certificate. OOAK CLOTHING + Original clothes: I like to keep dolls together with their original clothing. Marsha of Hankie Couture eBay-fame has also designed and sewn unique clothing for each of my repainted dolls. It has been a joy to collaborate with fabric artist Marsha. More of Marsha's original creations can be found on eBay under the seller name hankiecouture. Here is Marsha's own description of her OOAK dress: Stunning vintage-linen sun dress with embroidered flowers wrapping pretty details around the entire dress! Sweet yellow crochet trims the entire dress, skirt, bodice and shoulder straps. Embroidered sun flowers are varigated in shades of yellow. Bright green stems swoop gracefully around the skirt. The bodice is lined and has three snaps in the back. EYES: Honey golden brown, with fine eyelashes (upper & lower) and feathered eyebrows using varied colors HAIR: Original to the doll, it has a variety of blond colors. I washed and lightly conditioned it. Instead of rubberbands (which become frail and sticky with the passing of time) I used embroidery floss to tie her hair. I made the her hair decoration from glass beads. It matches both dresses. COLOR & PAINTING: Some computer screens may modify the color of the art. Some may make the image lighter or darker than it is. The doll will have finer detail and more subtle coloring than a computer-jpeg-photo shows. I hope the photos tell the story better than words. I paint each doll face as delicately as I do my commissioned portraits of children. You may see examples at my website, if you Google my name, which will reassure you of my credentials in fine art since 1990. I am using artist-grade oil paints (in thin translucent glazes) with the addition of alkyd resin to make the paint surface become as flexible as the doll’s vinyl skin and to make it adhere well. The dolls I use were factory painted. I would never repaint a doll that the artist (Helen Kish) had painted herself, such as some of those in the Kish Signature Line. I would not paint one in a limited edition of fewer than 300 (preferably 500 or more). I consult the beautiful book I own: Helen Kish: The Artist and Her Dolls by Louise Fecher (hardcover published in 2006). I am NOT affiliated with any doll company, creator or manufacturer. It is a joy to paint upon the lovely contours of the doll sculpts, to give each doll her own personality and spirit. Just as artists who work on reborn baby dolls do, I used a blush of shadow-colors in creases, dimples, and concave areas of the face, arms, hands, chest and rounded tummy. (The doll is too modest to show her body-blushing on eBay). Variations of the cheek color are on the nose and chin, at the skin-corners of the lips, at inner corners of the eyes, along the inner edge of eyelids, in the nostrils, in the collar bone crevice, on the inner fingertips, inside the ears and on earlobes. I painted the lips gently, using a wet-into-wet technique of varied colors to suggest natural childhood rosiness. None of my oil pigments use lead or cadmium. Though I painted this doll for adult collectors, I wanted the paint to be safe around toddlers and babies, who tend nibble on everything. Studio & Home: clean and smoke-free MARKS: There is an impressed mark on her neck: 1997 Kish and Company 97F. I signed my name on the back of her neck, too. Fingernails Painted with natural-looking tips, half-moons, and blush coloring VINYL BODY She has five (5) points of articulation (joints), at her neck, shoulders, and hips. She can stand by herself. She can sit, too. FINISH: Resin-oil glow (gloss) on eyes and lips A thin veil of clear matte varnish on rest of her face. BOX, Certificate, Doll Company : She has her certificate and box. I hope you won't store your dolls in the original cardboard boxes. Cardboard is an inexpensive paper product that is acidic. If you do store your dolls in original boxes, wrap each doll first in a clean white cotton pillowcase to protect it. Seasons Dolls were designed by Helen Kish and produced by White Balloon International Doll Company of Valencia in Spain. Kish had this company produce her dolls from 1991 to 1998. These Seasons dolls are RETIRED. LINK: Here is a link to an eBay guide I began writing on August 4th about my repainted dolls, which has PICTURES of a Seasons Spring doll before and after repainting. Please add me to your list of Favorite Sellers. See my Me Page (Its link is beside my eBay stars), for more credentials. To see my other items, you may click "View seller's other items" button (at the top right hand side of this page) or see the "Item Showcase" on this page. My future auctions of repainted Kish dolls will be for Angelic Riley, Fiesta Riley, Seasons Spring, Seasons Summer, Seasons Winter, Nicole, and Avery (Riley's friend). Would you like to receive an email from eBay when I list other art and dolls for sale? Click: View seller's other items (found at the top right of the eBay page across from the auction listing). Then click Save this search (found in small blue letters by "Items Found") to your My eBay. Doll commissions are welcome. I will be limiting the number of dolls I paint, since gallery oil paintings take most of my time. I will continue to paint dolls, however, for the joy I find in it. I usually go on-line twice a day, since I must devote most time to family and paintings. I request, therefore, your patience in my answering questions on-line. Caution: Prolonged sunlight and fluorescent lights may cause colors to fade. Heat, high humidity, and dampness will also damage dolls. Cardboard has acid content, which means that a doll box is less-than-good for storing a doll. If you store your doll in the box, please wrap her in clean white cotton fabric first. Payment within one week is requested. Your information will remain secure and private. I will ship worldwide if buyer uses PayPal and will insure your new doll for a safe journey to you. COMBINED shipping is fine on multiple purchases. All work is guaranteed for quality. If item is returned within two weeks, I will refund the purchase price. The buyer will please pay shipping cost (with insurance) for safe arrival back to me. All rights reserved. All art, wording and photos are protected by copyright law.
