OLD GERMAN DOLLHOUSE BIMINI STYLE GLASS DRINK SERVING SET & CADDY CONDITION: Excellent DESCRIPTION: These beautiful striped pieces are sought after by collectors and were found in a lifelong miniature collection. The glass is unmarked,  but the style is similar to other pieces that were found in the collection that were made in W. Germany or earlier in Germany. The story of the delicate thin Bimini glass style is interesting, (Google Bimini glass to read it for yourself). From what I've read the term Bimini has evolved to both include the thin blown glass made by Lampert in Austria and glass made by other companies that copied the Bimini style. I'm not an expert on the subject and although I know the pieces are quite old, I can't be sure of the exact origin. The caddy was also found in the same collection, but is not part of the original set. The  caddy, glasses and the pitcher are the only items shown that are included in the auction.    Starting bid is not an estimate of value, (which is often much higher). If we have overlooked something, please contact us. SHIPPING: USPS Priority Shipping with insurance is usually required. If an item arrives broken contact us within three days and please save everything.. item and/or pieces, box, packing material, etc. USPS will need to inspect it. (a very rare situation).  A combined shipping discount is available on multiple wins (when practical), so be sure to let us know in advance that you plan to bid on our other items and please don't pay until you have the correct invoice. (If you chose to "self check out" and pay prior to receiving a combined invoice, sorry but we can't revise the invoice at that point). We work under time constraints and try to use the most efficient shipping methods available. It's true: USPS rates aren't what they used to be, but nothing else is either. Please take shipping charges into consideration when bidding. RE: Requests for  First Class shipping. We print labels and pay postage and insurance online. I'm not sure why, but First Class rates online start at a minimum 1 lb. charge, so even with tiny items the savings might be around 50 cents, or at least not enough to warrant changing our routine. We can't pre-pack items since they need to be available in order to answer questions, but estimates are usually correct or very close. Occasionally the shipping calculator figure is a little off. You will pay the correct amount. Unfortunetly USPS rates for shipping larger items to California and other areas near California can be VERY pricey, but if the shipping calculator doesn't seem to be correct, please contact us and we'll check the rate manually. Odd or large size items could require extra time for shipping research and packing.  Insurance is usually required, so please contact us before checking out, if for some reason you didn't see an option for insurance. We aren't responsible for items after they leave our possession. Occasionally someone will contact us because their item hasn't arrived. Almost  every time it was at the post office waiting to be picked up. FYI: Higher insured amounts require a signature and will not be left on a porch. Occasionally a notification wasn't left or was lost. (that happened to us personally, more than once). Don't hesitate to call the post office and always feel free to contact us. Also please keep in mind that the date and time payment was received by us, weekends and holidays can affect the shipping date. We normally do ship quickly, but if there's an important reason that you will need the item asap,  please let us know and we'll do whatever we can to help. SORRY: INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING IS NOT AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME CONDITION: Our items are usually vintage, antique or used and are  sold "as is".  They might have age related imperfections such as  wear, occasionally slight odor, in need of cleaning, etc. We are certainly not experts by any means, but always do welcome and appreciate the advice of experts. We provide an honest description and offer an opinion on condition, but might be unaware of  possible restoration, a missing part, etc. When selling a large number of items as a "lot", they are being sold "as found". We will mention any obvious  problems but can't examine each piece closely and individually. Please look at the pictures carefully and always feel free to ask questions. (promptly please, we're not available 24/7 and we might not see the question in time).  There are no returns unless we have made an error that resulted in the item being grossly misrepresented. Personal opinions can vary. Once in awhile the miniatures might have a tiny dab of "Museum Wax, Mini Hold" etc. on the bottom, which is used by collectors to hold an item in place. (a very handy product!) It is reusable or it could be easily scraped off. PAYMENT: Ebay is changing the rules! In late Oct. we will not be able to accept money orders any longer. Paypal will be accepted, but additional details will be supplied soon. (or go to ebay's "Community" to read further). Payment is expected within 5 days. If you have any questions about this, please contact us.    FEEDBACK: When your package has arrived safely, we would very much appreciate positive feedback. This will also tell us that the transaction has been successfully completed and we will quickly leave feedback for you also.  Problems are rare, but can occur. Please contact us, so that we can identify and resolve possible issues as quickly and honestly as possible. Email should always go thru eBay to avoid spam blocker problems.  We reply to all email that we have received. If you did not receive a reply, we either did not receive your message or perhaps our reply did not reach you. (Do you have a blocked or junk email folder that needs to be checked?) Some eBayers (especially newcomers to eBay) will quickly leave negative feedback as soon as they think there's a problem. Most eBay sellers are honest and will resolve a legitimate problem. Negative or neutral feedback should be the LAST RESORT, when all else fails. (eBay strongly warns about this on the feedback page).
