She was one of the stars of the collection and is ready to go to her new home! Dolly is about 16 inches tall. She is Jumeau, nearly as perfect as they come! Perfect bisque socket head incised "2", on her original bisque shoulderplate with kid lining at the neck. She has blue grey paperweight eyes - they have a ring of cobalt blue around the iris with large black pupils. The long painted upper and lower lashes and black eyeliner give her eyes a large dramatic look. The pierced ears with the original opalescent milk glass dangle earrings are without damage to the earring holes. She also has a small brass cross decorated with cut & polished marcasite - it is on a ribbon around her neck - the ribbon was sewn closed in back. She has her cork pate with some damage to the cork and a long blonde mohair French wig with fabric cap. The original hair is long but very sparse - it looks like additional mohair was added later around the lower edge of the back to fill in the bare spots. Her original Jumeau kid body is firmly stuffed and very clean. Just a few small spots of pin holes, a patch on the left arm at elbow and minor discoloration from the stand. Dolly is wearing leather gloves with individually stitched fingers and top stitching - her hands feel firm in the gloves and I did not dare remove the gloves ... I could never get them back on again! The glove on the right hand has a separation in the seam at the upper edge that looks like some glue was added to stabilize it. She was lucky enough to retain her original chemise (red color transfer from the gown), split crotch drawers, slip, cotton socks, fashion boots marked "2", and two piece raspberry silk gown that is lined in pink gauze. The jacket closes in front with metal hooks and thread "eyes". The rest of the clothing including the slip, drawers and skirt with train was sewn on her at the waist with loose gathering stitches. It is pinned closed for now. She also has a small beaded bag that was probably made for her by her previous owner - it does not open but is made of antique iridescent beads. The fancy new bonnet was also made for her about the same time. Her high heel boots are very soft black leather or patent leather with red top stitching and black bead closures. The three beads are complete on each shoe but the top ones do not button - they were stitched down. She is a beauty!  She has been back-lighted - no damage found to her beautiful bisque!
