Description
Christmas gift - Museum quality dollhouse, fully furnished and electrified, for a serious collector. The basis for this unique house was an assembled model Lady Ashley by “House That Jack Built”. The project was conceptualized by an interior designer who had a Victorian theme in mind. It was hand-built with exceptionally fine details. The original purpose for the house was (even though in 1:12 scale) to show prospective customers the style, craftsmanship, and flexibility of house- and room designs. Features: The dimensions are 26” wide, 19 ½” deep, and 33 ½” height. This three-story house has full 10" ceiling heights and is made from quality 3 and 5 ply 3/8" cabinet grade plywood that is mill-cut. It also has pre-milled clapboard finish on outside walls. Included is a custom made turntable which lets the house rotate 360°. There are 7 rooms in the house, including the attic and a tower. The first floor has a living room and a dining room, including a detailed kitchen section. On the second floor are a staircase-landing hallway, the bathroom, and a master bedroom. The third floor (attic) joins the second bedroom with a seating area and access to the tower. The many windows are from Houseworks, double hung and fully functionally. There are split doors (with six panels each and brass knobs) in every room. The floors are stained, varnished, and polished to a high-gloss. Each room has base boards and crown moldings, and, similar to the window frames and door casings, are stained and varnished. The house has a custom designed back wall, hinged on both sides and split along the room dividers for easy access to all rooms. There is also a hinged cover for the attic. A bay window on the side of the house provides a view of the staircase. All walls (including the back walls) are decorated with period wall papers in different color schemes. The ceilings are covered with “acoustic” style material. The house is fully electrified with standard components from Cir-Kit, providing chandeliers and brass ceiling lights, sconces, and additional outlets for more freestanding lamps (or seasonal decorations) in each room. This includes also a functioning porch light. Most light fixtures are enhanced with genuine Swarovski crystals. The lighting system is complete with transformer, and can be dimmed for different ambient moods. The builder can supply photographs of the wiring details, taken before the wallpapers were hung. The furniture collection is very exclusive. Almost all pieces are made by Bespaq in the style of Queen Ann and Chippendale. Many items are no longer available. Other items included are unique custom made rugs, trinkets, candle holders, clocks, fine porcelain dishes, silverware, kitchen utensils, and more. To summarize: This is a collector’s dream.
