Wooden Dollhouse, Doll House, Handmade This Dollhouse was made for our daughter when she was 2 by Grandpa and Grandma in 1994. Then handed down to our youngest. Through long talks with the family, we collectively decided to sell their Dollhouse.They have pictures and memories of the time they spent playing with it.They decided the money collected will go to their college funds. With all the downsizing my husband and I are having to do.... How could I argue with that!Their Grandpa upgraded the wood that came in the kit of this three story house from Real Good Toys. It took him 6 months to put it together since he basically took what came in the kit and upgraded all the materials. They took the time to hand paint the outside and stained the wood floors. They used contact paper on the walls for easy cleaning and easy removal for decorative purposes. He added the stair railings himself, along with adding each piece of shingle one by one. He even stenciled the faux brick on the bottom of the house and the chimney. The door does swing open. The only mishap with this house is that my youngest pulled off the third floor railing when she was 4. She said the movers did when she was moving the family in..LOL The contact paper was torn a bit in one of the second story rooms. Again the contact paper can be removed for other decoration.This in no way takes away from the beauty of the house!!This has been stored in a smoke free home and I have dusted and oiled it at least every other month. It doesn't even look over 14 years old. It was made well and with love.
