She is a fully jointed and poseable brown bear with a touch of bean filling. Mabel stands ten inches high. Mabel Homespun has calico paw pads. She is from a new collection of Boyds Bears, The Quiltin’ Bee Bears Collection. This collection is a celebration of friendship and love as told through the art of quilt making.    Mabel Homespun is a brown bear with a very sweet face.  She has print paw pads and a matching ear bow which matches the fabrics in her beautiful quilt block. The print has a light brown background with tiny blue, pink and red flowers with green leaves. She is very proud of her Grandmother’s Fan Quilt Block she is holding.    Quilts often reflect the fashions of the era.  The Grandmother’s Fan pattern reminds us that fans were a staple in women’s wardrobes in the 1930’s.  The fan shape is achieved by anchoring a quarter circle fabric piece to the block corner and attaching eight fan spokes fabric pieces to the background square. The result is reminiscent of a fan that your grandmother might have used.    There is an adorable bumble bee button attachment to the block.  The history of the block is included on her tag.   Mabel Homespun is a beautiful bear with a very sweet face and wonderful quilt block.  She would be a wonderful addition to your collection or a gift for someone very special.
