She is wonderfully floppy and stained from years of being played with. Her inked facial features are now fading into the background. She is stuffed with seed cotton batting for that heavy, lumpy, bumpy, antique feel. Her dress is an antique cotton gingham doll dress, which probabl dates to early 1900's, with treadle and hand stitching and wonderful belted tie in the back. The color is the most accurate in the closeup of her feet. There are five hand-stitched button holes with pearl buttons which go halfway down the back of the dress. There are two pockets on the front. Underneath her dress is a wonderful old embroidered doll slip that buttons at the shoulder, it has one slit which I did not repair as I think it adds to her primitive charm.
