He is an impressive replica of the worlds very first teddy bear as designed by Richard Steiff and is the result of a very complex and time consuming reconstruction process. His reference number '55 PB' translates as '55cm Plush Bear' as initially Steiff bears were not called 'Teddies'. He is filled with wood wool, has black boot button eyes and a sealing wax nose. His jointing system is by means of strong thread as the originals were.  He has his Steiff button in ear, white tag , chest tag and certificate.
