Description
In 1998, the Gund Bear Company introduced Major Bearkin.  Major is a 21 inch high bear and was the first limited edition mohair bear from Gund.  Major Bearkin is a limited edition of only 700 pieces world wide and is now retired and hard to find.  He is a beautiful light brown, thick short mohair with lush velveteen paw pads that have stitched fingers and toes.  The paw pads are done in an olive green color.  Major has an open mouth lined in beige velvet.  He is wearing a red velvet ribbon around his neck which was to signify that these ribbon/bows were exclusive to the first five (5) mohair bears done in 1998.  However, of the group, Major Bearkin was the only limited edition.  He has a hand stitched nose and large dark eyes.   He is five times jointed and sits nicely on his own.  he has a round belly, a bear hump on his back and a little tail.  His arms are longer and well shaped.  In addition, there is a very low squeek/growler box in his belly but as stated, it is low and requires a good shake to activate.  The tag around his neck confirms that Major Bearkin is from the Mohair Collection and is a limited edition of 700 pieces.  I have him all these years displayed behind glass in a cabinet and he is in perfect condition.  This is a non-smoking home and only I handle the bears when necessary.  Money orders or personal checks only. Checks must clear before the item can be sent. Please include an additional $15.00 for priority postage with delivery confirmation.  I do not accept Paypal and will only mail within the United States.
