The maker is unknown. The head is composition or papier-mâché (either term is correct), as are the lower arms and legs. The rest of the body is cloth, and appears to be original. There is a repair on one leg and a split on that leg at the knee which can easily be repaired by gluing a strip of vintage brown fabric over it. This type of repair does not devalue the doll in any way.She has stationary dark pupil-less glass eyes. Her face modeling shows exaggerated African-American features. Dolls with these features are very collectible. She has an appropriate wig of mohair or fiber, impossible to determine which only from a photo, but it looks vintage.I would not remove it if it is glued tightly, as you risk pulling up the papier-mâché. Since the eyes do not sleep, you won’t need to pack the head for shipping. There should be no problem or risk of their breaking. Her underclothes are very well made and appear to be vintage, if not original. The red bead necklace is a plus feature. Her stockings and shoes also appear to be original, and I would not remove them as you risk ruining the shoes. The papier-mâché appears to be in very good condition with some touch-up possible on the corner of the mouth, nose and chin, but of this I cannot be sure without seeing her in person.Value as is on today’s market, $650-750.
