Tomás is a 10 inch bear made from mushroom coloured SCHULTE silk plush. For some time now I have been working on trying to create a more 'cub' like face. I have tried hard to keep Tomás' features in keeping with the looks which typify the THREE O'CLOCK BEARS but I wanted to create a new and fresh look and I feel that I have achieved this in Tomás. I was so excited when I drew that head shape and saw his little face emerging out of the 'fluff'. He has a shorter muzzle than my regular design and a rounder, wider head. This gives him a more baby like appearance. I have used an entirely different eye treatment which I feel maintains the sweet expression but creates a new 'cubby' look. I have given him a fatter tummy which I filled with steel ball bearings for a good weight. I wired his little arms so he can pose sweetly and stuffed him with poly-fibre and a little woodwool. He has careful shading and needle sculpting to create his sweet expression. I have sculpted his beige cashmere paw pads for extra detailing. I gave him a tiny baby 'quiff' and then finished his look with a little brown leather bandana trimmed with a vintage button at the back.
