Description 28" Early Crier Wetter Black Wood Doll RARE! Description: 28" Early Crier Wetter Black Wood Doll RARE! I think this is a museum quality item. Someone carved a doll head out of wood and patne dit. It is really well done. The head is screwed onto the body. The arm and legs are horsehair stuffed. They were then nailed onto the wood body. The unusal container and value was put in the body so it was a wet doll. You put water in the container and when you moved the legs a certain way, the doll wet. The dress and bonnet have wear but I believe are original to the doll. It is a printed heavier flour sack type material. The bonnet has one tear in it. The bonnet and dress have the same gathered ruffle trim. There is a squeaker in the body but it no longe works. Doll has old socks on. The hands are composition with lots of the paint off and cracking. This item is sold as is. If you have questions, please write me. It's certainly an unusual itme. Doll comes from a smoke free environment. Doll is heavy....it's about 6.5 pounds without even being put in a box.
