This is an early oil painted face doll. One side is a clown face and the other a doll's. I believe she is cotton stuffed. Look at the star hands and she has the wide stance. The old black cotton socks are sewn on so I don't know if there is any damage to the legs or not. She has a seam down the front of both heads, and there is a seam from the left to the right that crosses at the top of the head. Please view the up close pictures so you can see in several places where the stitching has been redone. She wears an old cotton dress and you can see where there is wear but it can easily serve as the front for both dolls. Doll is a must for any advanced cloth collector.
