Here is a great early homemade cloth doll. It is pictued in a American Rag Dolls Straight from the Heart by Estelle Patino. The body is cotton stuffed, jointed at knees, hips and shoulders, shaped with dowel down through neck into body. She has 3 extra faces, cotton with pencil-drawn features. Dress and apron original to the doll, bonnet added. The clue to dating is construction of head using dowel. Info listed is from this book.
