Independence Day is just around the corner and here's a big 26" bear who wants to celebrate. I named him July after the month because I had planned on using every month of the year for a bear's name and he fit the bill. I have only 4 more months left to fulfill. This Americana panda was made of three colors of curly mohair and I had to dye the red a deeper shade to make it look old-fashioned like the other two colors. To make his vibrant blue glass eyes stand out even more against his darker eye patches of fur, I gave him elaborate eyelids with just a touch of pale crescent so that he looks endearingly at you. I highlighted the black eyelids with a shimmer of blue. July is a classicly proportioned teddy with spoon arms and a hump and he is hardboard/locknut jointed and is stuffed with polyfil and has steel shot and/or pennies inside for weight. He has 100% wool felt paw pads that I did cathedral style stitching in contrasting floss and graduated shading in stippled technique in warm gray to add dimension to his toes. I placed an old red and blue metal kazoo around his neck with blue twine and he comes with a 4th of July ball that matches all this vibrant colors. July has a trimmed muzzle and a gently smiling mouth that is sculpted deeply into his face and has additional shading to add depth and on top of nose in the same stippled technique I used on his paw pads. I did a shot coming from slightly below so you can see his smile and he has a very nice profile too. He comes with a tush tag and a Certificate of Authenticity proving he's a “One&Only”Bear made by Michelle Lamb. Layaway is always available, just email for the terms.
