DESCRIPTION: This ia a beautiful Kestner child doll marked #171. She is 20.5 inches tall with nicely painted feathered eyebrows and dark brown sleep eye, still in their original setting. Her mouth is open and shows 4 bisque teeth. She haslower painted lashes and human hair lashes on top. The Kestner blod mohair wig she wears is original. She is wearig an antique white dress and new hoes and socks.  CONDITION: This doll is in excellent condition with no damage to her bisque head. She has a firing flaw to her upper left lip. Her body is in good condition with only normal wear to joins and hands.    HISTORICAL INFO: the Kestner Company in Walterhausen, Thuringia, Germany manufacured the dolls from 1805 until approximately 1925. the Kestner Co. not only made complete dolls but made and sold parts to other companies. It started using the trademard of a crown-and-streamers, and registered in in the USA and Germany in 1896. The company employed nearly one thousand employee until it closed in 1925.    This doll, along with three other bisque dolls were found in the attic of a house that was purchased over 40 years ago. Additional pictures are available by request. PLEASE, only serious bidders. These dolls are extrtemely rare and in great condition. They will be donated to an Antique Doll Museum if not purchased. An additional $4.00 is included for handling, packing & shipping. My personal care provider handles all my items.
